Our Mission
Colors of the World is a non-profit, non-religious organization established in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Colors of the World’s mission is to celebrate cultural diversity by providing a venue where diverse perspectives and values are accepted, appreciated, and honored. One of our major fundraisers is the annual Holi Festival of Baton Rouge.
Holi is considered one of the most revered festivals in India and is celebrated in almost every part of the country. Sometimes called the “festival of colors” or “festival of love”, this event signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and for many, a festive day to unite forgetting all resentments and all types of bad feelings towards each other. Every year a portion of the proceeds will be given to local nonprofit efforts in the Baton Rouge community. In 2022, they were donated to the Vince Ferachi Community Garden, the Three O’clock Project, and the Global Foundation for Better Education, Health, and Environment. In 2023, proceeds were donated to Keep Tigertown Beautiful.
The Holi Festival of Baton Rouge is a unique festival of colors, harmony, friendship, and love that continues to grow in popularity each year. Although an Indian festival, this event attracts people from many different cultures and backgrounds from the South Louisiana community.
